I was very happy to be invited to visit the Beekse Bergen safari park with my Dutch family. Last time I was there was a couple of years ago, but I had forgotten almost everything about the park and the animals. What I could remember was that the first time I went there, five years ago, I saw that the elephants were not light blue but grey. That was really a disappointment. I remember being laughed at for thinking they were that colour.
Eating plant-based: 3 months milestone
Going vegan was a long process for me. It started last year when I followed a course in Ethics. One of my classmates chose to write a paper about the way animals are treated, from the moment they are born till death, when they become food for humans. I was moved when I listened to her presentation, seeing gruesome pictures and appalling facts about the inhumane treatment undergone by animals.
I am(sterdam): afternoon out
I had planned to see the capital for a while. Last time I was in Amsterdam it was in September when I flew back from Barcelona, but I had no time to visit the centre of the city then.

Het Loo: A Place to Visit
I received a while ago from my grandma a ticket for the Het Loo Palace (thank you Buna). It is located in the heart of the Netherlands, outside Apeldoorn. Het Loo underwent a restauration since 1984 and recently it has been open to the public. The Orange family has been living and working here in the last 300 years.
Nervousness and Angst: Worship Band
Today I had the opportunity to sing in the worship band during the chapel service at ETF. It was for the first time that I have done this in front of people who know definitely more music than me and that can sing way better than I did today.
Dna Testing: Experiences so far
A couple of months ago I got a DNA testing kit from Family Tree DNA inspired by the experience of John Boeren from Antecedentia. I had to wait 6 weeks in total before my sample was analyzed and the results were ready. But it was all worth it.
Simona Halep: No.1 in the World
I woke up this morning very confident for the fact that Halep might indeed beat Ostapenko. I was not entirely aware of the possibility of becoming world no.1, in case she won. I just wanted her to take revenge for what happened this summer at French Open in the finals. Also in that match she had the chance of becoming the first Romanian female tennis player to ascend to the top of the ranking.
iMac 27 inch 2017: A Dream Realised
Sleeping last night and concentrating today at reading for “Church Development” was no easy task. I remember that the first time when I realised that I want one of those machines was in 2015, in the spring. Two years later, I get to finally have one.
The Light between Oceans: Book Review
It has been a long time since I read something so captivating. There are a lot of themes in this book written by M L Stedman, that can take you through an amalgam of emotions. I felt like in a roller coaster from start to finish. Happiness and sadness, love and contempt, light and darkness, were like wicked dualities meant to make you sick to your stomach.
Story of a Sociopath: Book Review
I had never heard anything about this author before I set foot in a library in Barcelona. I knew I would buy some book from Spain but I had no clue what genre or author. So, once I was inside I went directly to the English novels section and I was immediately drawn by the title of this book.
